Lockout will end soon.

The lockout will end shortly. The last time there was talk of a strike in
the early '80's both players and owners realized that basketball was not as
popular as baseball or football to withstand a strike. Some franchises just
don't have the financial base to do without income for a long period of
time. By this time next week the sides will be close and the players will
meet for "unofficial" practices.

Is anybody else a bit puzzled at how, in one post,
wp63...@nassaulibrary.org is praising the lockout because Ewing is a
loser, and now someone posting from the same address believes it'll end
in merely a week? I'll make no further comment as far as this goes,
because we could be looking at a public Internet e-mail account, as
opposed to mentally deranged split personalities such as, well, you know
who.

Notes and observations aside, I don't understand your optimism. Both
sides are talking now, but it doesn't seem as if so many issues can be
settled in so little time. You appear to be implying that the season
will start shortly after November 3rd, but a December or January start
to the season is more realistic, if the season is to begin at all.

Whatever. I hardly even care anymore. As far as I'm concerned, the
season can start in 2031.
