Pat Riley, the Knics, and the Heat (some thoughts)

A lot of people have been arguing how Pat Riley will lose
his touch if the Heat end up being a mediocre team. But I am
not sure this is a valid way to judge Riley's value to a team
The Heat obviously do not have the talent to be contenders
so a good way to judge his work would be to compare the Heat
of this year against the Heat of last. They are arguably a very
similar team with a different coach. In a similar fashion
we could judge him bu how the Knicks do this year. They are a similar
team with a different coach.

So if the Heat do better and the Knicks worse than they did last year
would that be a sign that Riely is a great coach? Or are great coached
only the ones who win championships?
