T'Wolves should be fun to watch again.
Knicks/T'Wolves was probably the best (most exciting) regular season home
game for the Knicks last season. Anybody remember a better home game last
year? .....Knicks/Pacers was really exciting too, but I think 1 notch below
the T'Wolves game.

T'Wolves Re-Sign Smith
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, Aug. 17 ‹ Minnesota Timberwolves Vice President of
Basketball Operations Kevin McHale today announced the team has agreed to
terms with free agent forward Joe Smith. Per club policy, no terms of the
contract were disclosed.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"We are extremely excited to re-sign Joe," said Flip Saunders, Timberwolves
general manager and head coach. "He was able to reestablish himself in the
shortened season last year and we look for him to continue to grow with us.
Joe and KG (Kevin Garnett) really complement each other and give us two of
the best shot-blocking forwards in the game today."
Smith appeared in 43 games for the Wolves last season, averaging 13.7 ppg,
8.3 rpg and 1.5 blocks per game. He ranked 9th in the league in offensive
rebounding (3.6 per game).
Coming out of the University of Maryland, Smith was the number one selection
overall in the 1995 NBA Draft, chosen by the Golden State Warriors. He was
traded by the Warriors on Feb. 17, 1998, to the Philadelphia 76ers. Smith
signed as a free agent with the Timberwolves last season.
Smith earned All-Rookie First Team honors in 1996, averaging 15.3 ppg and
8.7 rpg while playing in all 82 games with the Warriors. During his second
season, the 6-10 forward appeared in 80 games, averaging a career-high 18.7
ppg and 8.5 rpg. He saw action in 79 games in 1997-98, 49 with Golden State
and 30 with the Sixers. He averaged 14.6 ppg and 6.0 rpg.
A native of Norfolk, Va., Smith averaged 20.2 ppg and 10.7 rpg at Maryland
before entering the NBA following his sophomore season.

Of course, a large part of the excitement during that game was Marbury.....

Now the Nets have The Bomb and they will be more exciting...
Always been pissed that we were unable to deal for him. I believe that
played a small part in Grunfield's demotion. That and the Knicks record at
the time.
