Look this is about W's here. Just because the fans gave the T-wolves a
standing O doesn't mean that they think there the best team in the NBA and
will be crowned NAB champs. Two weeks ago we were the 9th seed in the west
and out of the playoffs. Now there is a chance of getting first round home
court advantage. So Shaq or no Shaq a win is a win and one step closer to
home court advantage (HCA) in a playoff series. Nobody is kidding anybody
here but this team has never had HCA and probably needs it this year to
succeed.
So does it prove anything, no, your right. But maybe your the one who
should wake up

That's fine. Let the Lakers fans say what they will. The Lakers are a great
team, and I don't think many Timberwolves fans think the Wolves are the
better team (when Shaq is healthy and playing, of course). What the Wolves
fans like me were applauding is the fact that they won their eighth game in a
row (beating teams like Portland, Utah, Phoenix, Seattle) and put themselves
right back into the thick of the playoff race in the West.

Keep in mind that prior to the current winning streak, the Wolves had lost
games to the Wizards, Mavericks and Celtics...all teams they *should* have
easily beaten. The fact that they bounced back and were able to win big
games against the better teams in the West is a huge thing, and one that
I'll continue to applaud the T'Wolves for. It may just prove to be the turning
point for this season for the Wolves. All the new faces on the roster (Laphonso
Ellis, Reggie Slater, Chauncy Billups) have seemed to finally gel together with
the rest of the guys, and they're really playing good team basketball right
now. Although, I'm sure they'll miss Peeler for this current road trip, he's
been a good sparkplug for the team at crunch time.

*some Laker fan drivel snipped (Of course he didn't mention the Lakers had
lost 2 of 3 WITH Shaq before he went down), perhaps they're jealous that our
players actually like each other*

Sam Mitchell expressed the Wolves' feelings (paraphrased): a win is a win;
injuries are part of the NBA, no one took pity on the Wolves when Brandon or
Billups was injured; we should be able to beat the Lakers without Shaq, and
we did.

On an unrelated topic, Sir Charles has been hysterical on TNT lately. Last
week he wondered if Mike Miller's family had come from South Dakota in
covered wagons to see him play at Target Center.
