Ready for the long (and somewhat biased) version of the story?

Eric is Larry's son. Larry led the NBA players union from 1961-1989,
and he was instrumental in increasing player salaries substantially
during that time without a strike. Larry was inducted into the NBA
Hall of Fame in 1991 for his contributions to the sport as the
Executive Director for the NBA players union for all those years.

The irony here is that back in 1983, David Stern (then the vice
president of business and legal affairs for the NBA) worked
hand-in-hand with Larry to hammer out the collective-bargaining
agreement that introduced, for the first time in an American
sports league, revenue sharing and a per-team "salary cap."

Eric and his brother Marc are both sports agents with NBA
players as clients. Eric is often accused of being on the unethical
side of the fence with his dealings between players and
teams.

Eric Fleisher is chairman of Assist Sports Management Inc.,
based in Mount Kisco, N.Y

Fleisher is currently involved in a couple of lawsuits. One
that he has brought against one of his former employees to
the tune of around $30 million (which, BTW, includes the
Wolves own Chauncey Billups as one of the defendants in
the case). The other lawsuit is against Fleisher and alleges
that Fleisher has broken NCAA rules and state laws by
engaging in inappropriate behavior as an agent with several
of his clients (including the Wolves Wally Szczerbiak and
William Avery...so Wolves fans have yet to hear the last
of Fleisher and his misconduct with several key Wolves
players...he's been like a cancer to the team, and the NBA,
for a long time, IMO).

The New York Post recently had a good article about the
whole mess

http://www.nypost.com/08102000/sports/9276.htm

The question was risen as a point of irony in all of this mess
regarding salary caps and the CBA. I found it interesting that
Stern completely dismissed it and didn't expand on it at all.

Great post...so there is hope that Eric Fleisher could end up
on a North Carolina or Georgia Chain Gang?

It's true isn't, "Instant karma" really can get you. :::blissful
sigh:::

I don't know...floating face down in the East River sounds a lot
better.

Yes but I think the more delicious punishment is for Eric to get
to know
young brothers who can't make him rich, but can only make him
itch.....

cue up "working on a chain gang"......

itch rhymes with bitch....

Good luck Eric....just losing his NY wardrobe for prison jumpers
will probably kill him.
