When Robert Horry made his season-saving shot against the Sacramento
Kings in 2002, when Derek Fisher hit his "0.4" buzzer-beater against
the San Antonio Spurs in 2004 and when Fisher drove a dagger into the
heart of the Orlando Magic last week, Hedo Turkoglu was playing for
the opposition. . . .

What the Orlando Magic need to remember when trying to resign
Turkeyglue is that he does not the heart of a winner. He is
not the same big time shot maker like a Robrt Horry or a
Derrick Fisher is. We all watched Hedo's play for the Sacto
Queens, throughout the few years they were able to compete
with the Lakers. Hedo wasn't a big shot maker then and he will
never be a big shot maker. He just does not have it in him.
Mark
When Hedo played for Sacto he was just starting in the NBA. He was
not a starter. He proved he was a big shot maker during this playoff,
until Ariza shut him down.
Geez, not every player needs to be a big shot maker. I'd take
ol turkey anytime as a solid performer. A game should never
need to get to the point where you need a 'big shot' if you're
doing what needs to be done. I'd take good solid, smart players
that never get into a 'must make' situation anytime over having
a big shot maker (make that sucker obsolete).

Well, with the help of an injury. Just another one of those things that fell
the Lakers way. Let's face it, we were lucky this year, to an extent, and
things may have been different.
Luck beats good.
I mostly agree that he showed himself to be fairly clutch
throughout most of the playoffs, but I'm hesitant to credit his
failings in the Finals to Ariza's free throw defense. ;) There is
still something missing. I'd still sign him, though, if I was Orlando.
So would I. Turkeyglue has game.

That's not fair. He hit some big shots in the playoffs. Especially
against the Cavs.

Actually you just proved my point so I can now rest my case.
The fact that Trevor shut Hedo down proves the fact that Hedo
is not a big shot maker. Big shot makers don't let other
players shut them down as you say. But shot makers make the
shot when it really counts and Hedo doesn't so that.
Mark
You're right. 95% of the time Hedo plays pretty smart
basketball and he is a good fit for the Magic. But when a game
is on the line (as we were relating to here) I would rather
see other players who I would trust more, taking that "big
shot".

Last 5 years game winning shots:
