To avoid a turnover or jump ball. He was on his back, in the paint (3 second
area) surrounded by Spurs, with no place to pass the ball.

in such a close game and especially after you had to take a to 4 min into

1) PJ usually has TOs available.
2) Would you have preferred it if he through it up over his head from a sitting
position and see how close he could get ? Or would you just let Bowen tie
you up and try to outjump him ?
Nobody wants to have to call a TO in this type of situation, but I don't see
another option.

Disagree, one of the advantages of Phil not taking a panic TO every time
the other team goes on a 4 point run is that he has some left to save
possessions and use at the end of games.
