Iverson to be waived

The Grizzlies and Allen Iverson have agreed to terminate the contract he
signed with the team and he will be waived in the next day or two,
according to sources close to the situation.
The move comes hours after Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley said that he
wanted an answer from Iverson about his playing future with the team in
the next few days.

Who's going to take him? Does Larry Brown have enough Prilosec to take him
on again? Does he have enough Prilosec to deal with bringing in Iverson
and Stephen Jackson at the same time? Is there any other coach in the
league crazy enough to try? Is there any other owner besides Sterling
crazy enough to pay him?

Larry just took on head case Stephen Jackson, so he I doubt he's going
to want to deal with baby Iverson. Besides, with Jackson, his
backcout is pretty solid and will get better once some his guys heal.
Grizzlies are willing to sign an oft injured Jamaal Tinsley who is
also somewhat of a head case rather than deal with Iverson. Iverson
doesn't realize his no longer a starter. He's done. I don't see
anyone else signing him this season unless they get really, really
desperate.

There's always the Washington Generals.
I think at this point he's looking to Marbury as a role model of how to sit
tight for a long time and then get signed by a contender. Of course,
Marbury only quit once, so Iverson may have a steeper hill to climb.

I love how Donnie Walsh says "Right now, I'd say probably not but we'll

Which is why he shopped himself to the best teams last summer at a
reduced rate...oh wait...he did not.

Iverson is too much of an egotist to accept coming off the bench
anywhere - even Boston. Besides, they don't need him. Knicks need
scoring and Iverson will give them that. I won't translate to wins,
but he'll give them scoring. However, I don't believe Donnie Walsh
will go down that road. Afterall, he couldn't take Marbury and
Iverson isn't all that much different.
