On Wednesday the Pistons begin the 2009-2010 season in Memphis.
Ironically Allen Iverson won't be on the floor because of an injury.
But of course he wasn't hurt at all when he was in Detroit.

What are your expectations for this season? I think 3rd in the
Central Division and 2nd round of the playoffs. I know it is very
early but I like the new coach, I like the fact Ben Wallace is back to
anchor the bench and kick Kwami Brown's lazy ass in practice. I think
Ben Gordon and Chris Wilcox were very good additions. I'm not sold on
Charlie Villenuava (spic) yet as well as the rookies.

It should be fun watching a three guard offense whenever Rip, Ben
Gordon and Stucky are on the floor at the same time.

Cheers,

Skip-On Wednesday the Pistons begin the 2009-2010 season in Memphis.

RD- should be an easy win and momentum builder for the new coach and the
new squad.

Skip-Ironically Allen Iverson won't be on the floor because of an

injury. But of course he wasn't hurt at all when he was in Detroit.

RD- at least they have a drawing card.

Skip-What are your expectations for this season? I think 3rd in the

Central Division and 2nd round of the playoffs.

RD-They'll flow well until the new coach loses respect, which won't be
long in coming.
He has quite a few problems. First, fans don't want Ben on the bench,
particularly behind Kwami Brown. A greater problem has to be you don't
have anything better at the 5.

Next, he has a log jam at the 2 spot. Stucky, Rip and Ben there, ain't
enough minutes.
Bynum has earned the starting PG position and if it isn't granted he'll
likely rebel somewhat.
Stucky can't sustain the PG position for any length of time and
certainly not an entire season, he's a scorer. Fortunately Ben can play
both positions, question is does the coach know that.

More positive, Daye and Maxiell can share minutes with Prince at the 3.
Wilcox, Charlie and the Jerobko can handle the 4 and the swede might be
able to contribute in the middle if pressed.

skip-I know it is very early but I like the new coach, I like the fact

Ben Wallace is back to anchor the bench and kick Kwami Brown's lazy ass
in practice.

RD- new coach sucks! Should have been Billy.
He's truly got his hands full in trying to blend the talent this team
seems to have. Ben and Rip competed so hard in practice it is clear both
want the starting 2 position. That's problem decision in waiting. Do you
go with flesh blood or stay and respect the Piston veteran?

skip-I think Ben Gordon and Chris Wilcox were very good additions. I'm

not sold on Charlie Villenuava (spic) yet as well as the rookies.

RD- on that I do agree.

skip-It should be fun watching a three guard offense whenever Rip, Ben

Gordon and Stucky are on the floor at the same time.

RD- not looking forward to that especially if I have to pay for a
ticket!

Cheers,

Geers

I think below .500 but 7th or 8th seed and first round exit.

There is that.

I'm guessing 43-39, and win one game in the first round of the playoffs
before exiting.

They sort of remind me of the Bucks club the Pistons beat a few years ago
in the first round of the playoffs. They were undersized and scored a
lot, and were fun to watch, just not very good.

I'm assuming that either Hamilton or Stuckey is traded sometime this
season. I just can't see them carrying so many guards.
