Just kidding. Nats sign former Expo Draft pick, OF Jerry Owens to a minor
league contract with an invite to Spring training. Owens is 29 and has
played occasionly for the White sox.

I had a vague recognition of the name, but not enough to check it out. He
reminds me of why I don't get too excited about draft picks (he was a 2nd
rounder...). Syracuse does need inventory, though....

He's our new Ryan Langerhans; quick, good base stealer, perfect outfield
skills and bats anywhere between .260 and .083 based on circadian
rhythms. Maybe we are grooming him to be Willie Harris in 2011? He was
a wide receiver (for Kyle Boller) in College.

Owens reminds me of more than a few Nats' OFs of the past..... I read he
really should have gone to the NFL, but I'd choose baseball any day......
