Right now, the Nats have the worst record in baseball
so we get Number 1 draft pick.

Maybe there will be another Strasberg or Harper in the draft

To replace Juan Soto, who just turned down a $450 million offer from the
Nats

Soto is worth a ton. Makes no sense to sign a long term contract quickly.
And I'm sure that he wants to win, and that will take a lot of money for the rest
of the team. This year's team is Juan and the AAA leftovers.

Trust is broken by the Nats (or other?) sources releasing details of the
offer. Soto clearly wasn’t happy, so it’s anyone’s guess how long he
remains with the organization; trade deadline is August 2.

Also not happy: season ticket holders facing a 21%(!) price hike in their
latest bill for 2022 ticket packages…with no stars from 2017 or any
guarantee Soto will remain…

Wow, that is pretty greedy.
Put a AAA team on the field and then up the price.
Are you sure Danny Boy Snyder didn't buy the Nats when we weren't looking?

I hear the rumor mill that the Nats are trying to dump Corbin in any Soto deal.
Apparently Corbin has a $50 million negative trade value. I can't image any
sane GM would want Corbin unless the Nats eat his way over priced contract.
