Sticking point is a year. Garland wants a 3 year deal, the Nats don't
want to budge past 2. No idea on whether this info is affected by the
Marquis signing. Why quibble over a year? Garland has 9 straight
seasons of over 32 starts. Pull the trigger Mike.

Garland
Lannan
Marquis
Stammen
Martin or Martis

I like it.

I think two of these guys, who can keep the bullpen from becoming a
meatgrinder, would be great. The young pitchers can then also go back on a
regular development schedule..
And here I was, expecting Rizzo to wait while the first couple of guys
sign elsewhere, then swoop in to grab the panicking last of the litter....

Olsen can be a 3rd or 4th starter, too... health permitting.

True and we have Zimmermann and Strasburg on the horizon.
