He makes the case that the choice is between Riggleman and Bobby
Valentine.
First he says, "Fox's Ken Rosenthal, for my money the best reporter in
the business, takes it a step further, writing that Valentine and
Riggleman are the two finalists for the job"
Rosenthal is the dope who had this exchange during the World Series,
"One factor that may come into play tonight is the field. It rained
hard yesterday and the field was very wet. But,the field is in great
shape and I don't think it will be a factor."
Shenin then goes on to state, "You don't hire someone like Valentine
unless you think the team is close to contending"
Really? The guy hasn't had a MLB job since 2002. No one is beating
down his door, not even the Chiba Lotte Marines. Why pretend he's in
some sort of great demand? In 15 seasons he won one NL pennant (2000
with the Mets).
This week will announce the Riggleman has been signed to a two year
deal. Tim Foli will be his bench coach.
