I'll take 79-82. (One game won't get played because both teams will be out of it)
We'll start out horrible, but they'll go on a tear near the end.
Our win-loss record this season won't be a measurement for success. This season will be successful if the team improves.
Entering this season we only have 3 players with guaranteed positions: Soto, Bell, and Cruz.
By the end we should have 6-7. If we still only have 3 (assuming Bell and Cruz haven't been traded) the season is a disaster.
Pitching is similar, but more complicated. The bullpen is a mess, and the starters are mostly suspect.
Too much is placed on Gray panning out. Can Strasburg and Corbin bounce back? Or will Paolo Espino be our #2 starter?
I was hoping the Nats would pick up a starter from the A's, but Sean Manaea went to the Padres and Chris Bassitt went to the Mets.
