According to the official box score of the opening day game against Oakland,
"W. Williams" took a BB when he pinch-hit for Cedeno in the seventh inning.
Later, "W. Williams" took the second base position defensively. The next at
bat, "W. Williams" even got hit a single.

Who is this "W. Williams" who hit and played second base? I know that Woody
Williams is a pitcher and on the DL. Was this an error in the box score?
Maybe someone watched the game on TV or listened to the radio remembers what
really happened and could explain this to me...?

Thanks!

The pinch hitter for Cedeno, as I recall, was
Tilson Brito. Cedeno left the game with a sore
leg -- he had fouled a ball off that leg earlier
in the game. A walk and a hit for Brito sounds
right to me.

Greg, "Woody" Williams was
obviously not the pinch hitter here.
