I just heard Stan just passed away.....sad one of the GREAT ONES....
ALL baseball fans have loss a great human bein as well and one the the best to
EVER play the game.....

Musial while playing pick up games.
It's fitting that Mr. Musial died during the Cardinals' Winter Warm Up
weekend. Every player is in town right now.
This makes me very sad.

As with you, he was one of my childhood heroes. I clearly remember I cried
the day he played his last game. I was 10 years old.
He was 92, and he got to see his kids grow up, and their kids grow up. If
anyone has a list of the 10 best players in baseball history and it doesn't
have Stan on it, they should throw the list away.
Add another All-Star to the Field of Dreams.

Who would have guessed Musial beating all those great hitting
contemporaries in FA?

in the field with only 64 errors in almost 4,000 chances.
Only DiMaggio and Mays thoroughly out-classed him in Range, with Mantle
also slightly better.
