I'm rooting for the Rockies. Just before this season began, I picked
them to win their division (close, they were in it on game #161 and
made the playoffs). The Jason Marquis blessing continues.
JC Corcoran may be a Cub fan, but I agree with his point about the
postseason being too late with the late start, too many days off, and
three rounds. He wants the Rockies to make it far so people can see
the idiocy of playing in winter conditions.
About a year ago I said it would be best if baseball contracted to 28
teams, 4 divisions of 7 teams each, with only two rounds of playoffs
because only division winners make the playoffs, with Game 7 of the
World Series in October. Cards would not have made the postseason
this year under such a format because of their inferior record.
Am rooting for whichever NL team wins the NLCS. The AL representative
should be the Angels because they play NL style ball and it wouldn't
be the end of the world if they won it all.

Your reasons are not only *not* the way to 'shorten' the season, but
they aren't even the reason this season ended late.
The reason, THE ONLY REASON, this season ended late is because of the
World Baseball Classic.
Once again, you demonstrate your considerable lack of knowledge.
For those who don't like the season ending this late, they should
suggest to TPTB to play the WBC at the end of the World Series, not in
the middle of spring training.
