You probably think Lincecum deserves it because he has to overcome having
Righetti as his pitching coach.

You're calling Schulman (not Shulman) an "idiot" for having the decency
to explain his vote? Classy. FYI, Schulman reads this newsgroup.
By the way, I don't agree with Schulman's vote, but I think it's a close
call.

If he'd posted something like this before voting I'd have pointed him
towards a couple of analyses I'd read that came to different
conclusion.

Though I wouldn't be at all suprised to learn that Henry did read it
and came to his own, different conclusion.
The top two were very, very close this year, it all comes down to how
much weight you give the various stats.
And Carpenter had the whole come back player+play-off team things
going for him. I'm not crying foul.
Oh, and Timmy getting another CYA will probably cost the Giant's a bit
of change to boot. :-)

What an awful analysis. If I want to read a biased account of why
Lincecum is the best pitcher in the National League, I'll just listen to
Mike Krukow.
Hurray for him leading in a bunch of stats that nobody cares about.

Good. I'm glad I spelled his name wrong.
The W-L record reflects more on the bats. He improved in many other
category's.
Only a faster car and a medicinal card for pot! What a great role
model for the Giants!
LOL, sort of my opinion, but it does add to the discussion. And the
context was "confusing a writer with a vote against Lincecum". :-)

Schulman at least broke the players down well and it was just as close
as he seemed to think it would be. I've never found Henry to be
anything but one of the best sports writers around. Oh, The Freak
won again. He had the strikeouts, the innings and anemic run support.
He prevailed ...
