Mercy was what the Padres did for Boch.

Blacks contract extension is perplexing. Perhaps the trait in him
they so value is his willingness to manage a club with no chance of
success.

The ownership is what is perplexing. The structure of major league
baseball is perplexing.

Padres eek out a 2-1 victory. Better get used to that. They don't
seem capable of scoring more than that on a regular basis.

Did anyone see the post game? I'm wondering if Bud declared two runs
as playing well.....again?

This is pretty much the same team we watched play well in the second
half. They hit and scored and played around the field like major
leaguer's then so I expect that they will play as well this year. The
pitching once again will be what determines how well they really do.

No answers. Buddy answered one question and left. Grant and Dick
seemed surprised and the show moved on without comment. I thought they
played well. This has been their type of ball, scrappy.
