Lee was great for the Phillies if I were Phillies fan I would sad to
see him go.

As alluded to by Mr O'Neill, locking him up long term wasn't going to be as
easy as locking up Halladay. Note: I spelled his name correctly this time.

I think I see what you're doing there. It's wordplay, right?!

So, now the rumors are that Lee was not needed for the Halladay
deal, and Amaro was thinking of him for a salary dump (!) in
a separate deal. But that sounds pretty nutty to me. Cliff
supposedly called him and said he'd like to pitch next to
Doc for a year and see how that goes. So hopefully it's all
just posturing on the way to getting that accomplished.

(How incredibly sweet would that be? And if it could happen,
maybe, just maybe, Lee would fall in love with this team and
want to stick around after 2010.)
