He's hitting .315 with a slugging percentage near .500 for the month of

He's actually played fairly well; he's definitely not the reason why
they went 1-5; nor is he even PART of the reason why they did.

He's too young and gets paid too little!

Melky is fun to watch. You can't say the same for many of the stiffs
on the team.

And he can play; it doesn't help if you are fun to watch but you can't
play :) The problem is that he is not someone that should be
leading off in the lineup; he gets exposed if you do that.

His OPS + is rising - though it's still well below league average. He
needs to get that up a bit, and if he hits like he has recently, he
should be able to.

I honestly don't expect Cabrera to ever be a great ballplayer. That's
fine with me. He can play all 3 OF positions well and hits enough.
If Cashman can somehow find someoen to take Matsui or Damon off their
hands sometime before their contracts end, I can see him playing LF
with Gardner in CF, and maybe the Yankees will finally have good
outfield defense again.
