election. How depressing is that for Obama supporters? I mean, think
about it. 2000...the reigning Vice President and global spokesperson,

administration, going up against a bumbling fool, George W. Bush, and
Gore cannot even win his home state and loses the election (yes, he
did in fact lose). Then in 2004, an unpopular and still bumbling
fool, George W. Bush, up against a certifiable war hero, John
Kerry....the economy was struggling, the war was unpopular, and yet
Kerry cannot beat Bush. If, with the uber-popular Barack Obama going
up against someone seen as being part of the Bush government with a
comical sidekick, with the war issues and the dreadful economy....I
mean, if the Democrats cannot win *this* election, what possible hope
is there for them?

Funny. The RNC talking points e-mail I just got reminded me of how
intelligent and smart Biden is. It cautions me not to expect too much of
Palin since she is so inexperienced compared to Biden. They are telling
me that if she doesn't make serious mistakes, I should consider that a

It's becoming increasingly unlikely that they will. The electorate
has rightfully concluded that this mess is the Republican Party's
fault. The severity of the coming economic crumble will determine how

behind by eleven. The 51-64 group, the ones looking most closely at
their retirement investments had McCain up by 5 points two weeks ago.
Now that same group has him behind Obama 51-39. That group is also
the most reliable group of voters. If McCain loses Florida, he might
as well kiss this election goodbye.

What's an "average lifestyle"? Bowling isn't average. Very few
people do it. Far more people jog for example. As for the rest of
your description, do they drink their six packs before or after PTA?
If one wanted to be accurate about who Joe Six Pack is, he's the guy
who works hard with his hands and body because he never was successful
at working with his brain. He's the guy who goes home and gets half
drunk every night and double drunk most weekends. He's the guy who
disregards his $400 a month beer habit while complaining about the
chinks fucking up the economy so bad a real man can't even buy a
decent house anymore. Meanwhile, the Republicans he's voted into
office are setting rules that let house flippers and oil speculators
price him out of the housing market and eat up his new truck down
payment with inflated gas prices.
So why does Joe Six Pack keep voting Republican? For the same reason
he works with his hands. His brain doesn't work well enough to figure
out that the party of affluent businessmen is only pretending to Joe's
old fashioned values of what life is supposed to be so they can stay
in power and keep screwing him over.
You see, the Dems *used* to be the party of Joe Six Pack. The Dems
have for a century stood up for the average working Joe. They
supported the Unions that got him those good paying factory jobs. They
supported the government safety nets that rescued him when disaster
struck. It was the Dems, not the GOP that created Social Security so
Joe would have a minimum base to retire with if his life savings got
wiped out by a heart attack or a cancer stricken child.
Some folks wonder why blacks abandoned the so-called Party of Lincoln.
Meanwhile, I wonder why the common working stiff abandoned the

That's a pretty broad generalization. There are so many different kinds
of wine. I picked up an $80 bottle of Margaux 2003 the other day on sale
for $40 (and I got an addition 20% off b/c I bought a mixed case).

An accurate observation. When times are tough, folks pray. You
don't? When food is scarce, you can always hunt. In the city you can
always rob. Is not a principle reason for the second amendment to
allow folks to defend themselves even to the point of rising up
against the government? Does anybody doubt that some folks are more
educated that others? More emotional than others? If you're offended
by factual observations, perhaps you should ask your minister why his
noting of facts offends you so.
