The Phillies basically swapped one ace pitcher for another. They
traded away Lee for Hallday. Now if they had them both I would be
worried. But Lee and Hallday are basically a One and a One-A. There's
basically no difference. Both have won Cy Youngs. Basically Phillies
traded away their best World Series pitcher for a guy that's never
been in the post season. They swaped aces. It would be like if the
Mets gave up Santana for Halladay. There no better today with Halladay
than they were yesterday with Lee.

I'd take Halladay over Lee or Santana TODAY.....in three years we'll
see. Me thinks this trade wasn't about 3 years from now though.

Halladay is older and more injury prone than Lee as well; let's throw
that out there as well. I guess the Phillies thought they could sign
Halladay cheaper than what Lee would have gotten next year

Don't forget, they already had Lee on the roster, for the prospects they
traded to Cleveland last year. Now, they have Halladay, but they had to
deal Lee, even more prospects and the nice 60 million dollar extension to
boot.

I say they may have gotten better, but like the OP put it...........Halladay
has not pitched in the NL (in the bandbox the Phillies call home), and he
hasn't pitched in the playoffs. Lee had done both quite
well..............odd deal, IMO.

So you're not worried about the Phillies the way they're built now?
