Alex Avila as a free agent signed with the White Sox. His contract was
for $2.8 million. Significant decrease from what he earned last
season with Detroit. His first full season he batted close to .300
winning a Silver Slugger and was good defensively. However with each
succeeding season his numbers declined finally losing his job to
McCann last season. I wish him well with the WS but am glad to see
him gone.
