Here are Scott Rolen's numbers since becoming a Cardinal.

He's on fire! He has stepped up in the stretch run to do exactly what St.
Louis acquired him to do.

Don't forget that Jim Bowden had him, and was nixed by Carl.

He's done well. I wish they would have done it in July, when I was yelling
about starting him then.

As far as Rolen goes, Jim Bowden gets criticized over what he does or
doesn't do. It's just another example of that he knew who to acquire, but
got no support from ownership.

So perhaps when Bowden was targeting 2003, he made the critical mistake of
assuming that ownership would be going along with that.

While I'm "shotgunning", I might as well get them all, I think John Allen is
a spineless puke!

I have weekend season tickets for the Cardinals, so I am at every
Saturday and Sunday home game at Busch Stadium.

I knew that Rolen was an excellent and patient hitter, and that he had
a really good defensive reputation.

Having watched him almost every game for the past few months now,
either in person or on TV, I am even more impressed with him than
before. He is *fantastic* at third base, but the thing about him that
has surprised me the most is his baserunning. This guy is really very
fast, especially considering his size. I just hope they lock him up
for the next four years or so.

A great broadcaster. A better man.

I think the further he gets from Larry Bowa and Philly, the better he will
be. I don't think you've seen the best of him yet.

He is arguably the best all-around 3rd baseman in the game. We had him, but
Carl had to make a banana payment.
