Let's look back at the racist, dog-loving paradox that was Marge Schott - who was somehow one of the most charitable owners in sports history, in between being an unholy nightmare to actually be around.

It's Tales of Sports Foolishness!

Notes:
*In case you're chronically confused from the first news clip in the video, her "lifetime ban" from 1996 was later lifted, and was not permanent. "Lifetime bans" in baseball are kind of a misnomer in that way, as many of the bans have historically come with rather short expiration dates, despite their dramatic titles.
*The most important books/articles written about Schott during her lifetime were, in short order, "Marge Schott Unleashed" by Mike Bass, "Marge Schott: Baseball's Big Red Headache" by Ira Berkow, and "Heaven Help Marge Schott: Cincinnati's owner is a Red Menace" by Rick Reilly.
*While Schott was the only female MLB owner who hadn't inherited her team as of 1984, she wasn't the first woman to ever buy her way into owning an MLB team, as that distinction belongs to Joan Payson, who was the co-founder the New York Mets. You should read the New York Times obituary about her; she was basically the complete opposite of Marge Schott: https://www.youtube.com/redirect?v=fYrT_Kk_gr0&event=video_description&redir_token=8GOIN9lsHRVGZJOFn1rxeG-qH-F8MTUzOTE1NzQwMEAxNTM5MDcxMDAw&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nytimes.com%2F1975%2F10%2F05%2Farchives%2Fjoan-whitney-payson-72-mets-owner-dies-head-of-greentree-stables-in.html
