Another great season for the Chicago Cubs. They finish 83-78 in second
place well ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers and the rest of the Central
division. And, for the third year in a row the Cubs finish above the
magic .500 number. Platitudes must be given to Cubs' management and
hopefully the new owners recognize their success and reward them
appropriately. Lou will get one more year with Ryne Sandberg waiting in
the wings to take his place. There is no better time in the last 100+
years to be a Cubs fan than right now and as far as I know, the Ricketts
love statues. Expect one for Ron and Billy and maybe even Ryne someday.
It doesn't matter if none of them ever won anything in their careers,
what matters is our memories of sitting in the stands at Wrigley field
when we had youth and ambition and our entire lives ahead of us. We are
Cubs fans which means tradition is more important to us than winning.

Even though the Cubs lost today, I'm still breaking out the booze to
celebrate.

that matter.

If there is a Bubbamike siting in October does that mean we'll have six
more weeks of summer?

I guess it takes one to know one. Should we mark our calendars for six weeks
from now when you reply?
