Question:Ryne Sandberg & wife

My question is:What was the name of the Cub player that evidently was
having an affair with Mrs.Sandberg? This happened around the time that
Ryne retired about 3 years ago.

No, Mark Grace did not have an affair with Cindy Sandberg. Rumor is,
that a couple of Cubs had affairs with Cindy, and since Ryno was the
centerpiece of the team, he got those players traded. Word is, those
guys included Dave Martinez and Rafael Palmiero. Of course, this is
simply rumor.

I beg to differ with you. Grace did have an affair with Cindy, and that is
one big reason why Grace is no longer married also. Ryno retired because
of the ordeal, and that happened long after Mr. Martinez and Mr. Palmerio
did Cindy. Perhaps they did her earlier....

Where does this come from? Did Grace admit to this or what? Was
Ryno's wife some huge slut or something?

Usually I wouldn't give a damn -- but Mark is my favorite player
and if someone is going to say he had an affair with his teammate's
wife behind his own wife's back, and substantiates that claim
somehow, I'll not respect Mark very much as an individual. Just
one of those issues I feel strongly about...

there was a chicago tribune article in 1995 about the rumors of
sandberg's wife fooling with other Cubs players causing them to be
traded...the Cubs front office denied trading any players at sandberg's
request...no names were mentioned but this was supposed to have happened
after sandberg signed the big contract, sometime after 1989...dave
martinez and palmerio were long gone by then so if the rumors are true,
i doubt it could be them...i don't think grace was involved since he's
still with the cubs...
