Since we are in the middle of Hanukkah, and since Christmas is next week, I
want to wish all my fellow Cub fans in this forum a happy holiday period,
and most of all, a happy and healthy new year. But I have particular hopes
that Santa leaves or grants the following to the regular posters in this
group. To...

Frank Sereno----a well-paying job that he likes.

Paddy---continued recovery from his surgery and renewed health.

Michael Lanasa---a book of puns.

The Old Geezer---a home-brewing kit and new tunes for his ipod.

G not C---an anti-troll detector and destroyer

Dick Adams and Card Fan---appreciation for your positive and helpful posts
despite being fans of rival teams.

Lance---$90 million to give Cub ownership to buy out Soriano's contract.

RickyBobby---membership in the Congress of Racial Equality and a portrait of
Martin Luther King Jr.

Mark Anderson---a Jim Hendry bobble-head doll for his dash board.

tks---a new shawl and lap blanket.

Casey Miller, John, Mark Cooper, Mark Sieving, ray heitman, Ron
Johnson---encouragement to post more in 2010.

Me---forgiveness from those I may have forgotten.

And to all of us----seats together in the row behind the Cubs dugout in
Wrigley to watch Ernie throw out the first ball for the 2010 World Series.

My Mom, Dad were and sister is a Cubs fan. Stan Musial was my favorite
player and so I became a fan of the Cardinals. That was in the late 50s.
Some of the best times Mom, Dad and I ever had were when we talked baseball.
Sadly, haven't been able to that for quite a few years now. I miss it.

Anyway, from someone who does know the joy of cheering for a world champion
team, I hope it happens for you all. It never did for Mom and Dad, but they
never gave up hope either.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all dedicated fans, regardless of
allegiance. My univeristy is dropping Usenet service at EOY, so if I am not
back, I have enjoyed lurking and occasionally posting. Peace.

Go to "eternal-september.org". If you register there, it's a free usenet
service. I've been very happy with it.

Claude...

Thank you for the thought of a new shawl and lap blanket.

They certainly will come in handy but what I really need is a new set of
wheels for my walker. I've worn those suckers out....oh, and if you can,
some Metamucil.

Happy Holidays to all our rowdy friends at ASBBCC.

tks

I just want to say thanks, Claude. And may all our friends in asbc-c have a
joyous holiday season. Hopefully we will be celebrating a Cubs' World Series
Championship at this time next year. Keep the faith and share the love.
