So the other morning on The Score, I listened to about a half hour of David Haw and Mike Mulligan discuss Mark Buehrle's career and whether he is worthy of the Hall of Fame.
To be honest, that program is a very hard listen when they discuss baseball because Mully always wants to talk about his beloved White Stockings. When Brian Hanley was his partner, at least there was a Cub fan in the studio. I don't know who Haw cares for regarding Chicago baseball teams. And, yes, I know it's spelled Haugh.
Anyway, part of the discussion was about Lester and whether Beuhrle getting in would help the case for Lester. My opinion, neither should be in the Hall. Both were very good, but I think they fall short of being great. The various HoF monitors at Baseball-Reference bear that out. I was surprised at how short Lester was from those standards.
Tells how things are going this winter in Chicago when the biggest thing to talk about is Mark Buehrle.
