Thank you for posting Rory's call of the Anaheim Angels winning the
World Series in 2002. I'll embrace that moment for the rest of my
life, and Rory's voice will always be part of it. RIP, Rory Markas.
That season took everyone by surprise. It started out with the Angels
several games under .500 about a month into the season, and people
would call in after the games to complain about the same old Angels
under-performing. We believe it was Rory who came to their defense
and told the callers to be a little patient, for crying out loud, that
the season was just a few weeks old. The callers would insist that
the 2002 season was already a predictable failure. And Rory and Terry
would disagree, that you have to let the season play out and give the
team a chance, the season was still very young.
