Brown for Lieber

This morning the adjustments begin. Brant "that loveable" Brown before 'the
drop in Milwaukee", which I witnessed first hand in disbelief, for John
Lieber, the 8-14 pitcher from Pittsburgh. the Grace fans sighed with
grateful relief.

Further it is written that Hernandez's 22 HR's and on field versatility is
more valuable than previously realized. Lynch is reported to be desiring to
sign him to a multi-year contract due to this unexpected interest from
around the league. (Could it be too late since he is a free agent next
year?)

With the uncertainty of Blauser, Gaetti and Johnson, Hernandez is important
to the Cubs, (DAAA).

OK I can see Hernandez spelling the old legs of Gaetti, Blauser, Johnson and
even Morrandini at least once game a week. And for Jose it seems that kind
of change and "almost regular play" suits him best, it could be
concentration of being in the game.

But I still see the Cubs one starting pitcher short (even with the prospects
of Gonzales coming back in July), Mulholland is best in the bull pen setting
up for Beck. Is there a AA pitcher, Farnsworth or Miller. Or are the Cubs
still trying to get a rehab'ed and suspect Appier from KC. (Also have you
noticed the subtle $60 MM payroll side note, SO WHAT TRIBUNE CO., what are
the Dodgers, Braves, Mets, SD, StL, and even SF's payroll?)

So with Brown, Servais, Clark gone, replaced by Lieber & Santiago, who will
the rest of the club be?

Maxwell, Roosevelt Brown?, Valdes?

Be sure that Lynch will get some players off the ML scrap heap and
NOT play anyone young or promising.
