He's in the running for the Dewayne Wise spot.
Whew, I looked up his averages and this guy can't even hit as well as
DeWayne!
Majors.
KW should be able to find a kid out of Lewis College that could
perform the same.
Well De Aza only has 164 major league AB over 2 years. In fairness,
as far as ML league success he doesn't have much to judge him on, only
a relatively small sample rate.

Looking at his minor league stats looks like he hit the hell out of
the ball but did anyone notice ( i'm sure I am the only one) that in
any year that he played more than 7 games his fielding % was sub .990
( the last being .961 in 66 games for Carolina in 2006) ?
That is appaling
Jim
If he can't field he fits right in on this team. Good job Kenny!
My point is, I once believed that baseball was the great American
Pastime.
Now it too has become another politically correct intrusion into our
country's traditions, cultures and heritage.
Huh?
It appears that MLB has taken on some assinine obligation of the far-
left PC crowd that thinks we need to import more Latino baseball
players from S.A. to fill rosters.
What is this Bullshit?
I say that it's become more about the continuing objectives of
affirmative action than it is about the fans. Many of these players
aren't even American citizens!
Worse, how many real lousey players have managed to make it to the
majors that come from South America - and can't even speak English?
Answer, the majority of them! And they're certainly not any cheaper in
dollars than native players since MLB has minimum wage and starting
pay requirements - just as do the minors.
My belief is, if you're from S. America and you're going to play for
our team, you had better be nothing less than outstanding! Otherwise
this game is really gonna get old fast. I mean, how can I be proud of
my team when nearly half of the players have no allegiances to the
U.S.A. (muchless for the city that they play for) as starters?
De Aza? From his MLB record, he's a bottom feeder! The minors tell me
he has had a small degree of success - but only during the first two
weeks after being traded to another team (after that, the opponent
figures him out).
Why aren't there more Ron Kittles, Curtis Grandersons or Jim Thomes
dying for a chance to make the hometown proud?
And don't even think of calling me bigotted or prejudiced because I'll
come right back at you!
It all sucks because pisspoor players from south America are being
given a better chance to make the MLs than American born players!
Don't think that is the case with KW He trades and signs all kinds of
guys that can hit and can't field ( I. E. Podsednik, Pierzynski) Some
that can't hit but can field and hell even a couple that can't do
either ( I. E. Josh Fields and Swisher come to mind immediately) We
even have a Black guy that can hit but is poor in the field) So I see
KW as an equal opportunity GM ( clueless but un biased)
Jim
I'll take an American player over any foreign player anyday - even if
the American can hit but can't field - that is like I say, unless the
foreign player is near outstanding. Uribe was actually quite good (and
necessary during his time) while Iguchi was close to outstanding.
There's plenty of genuine talent in the U.S.
