The Sox still have 6 remaining games with the Tigers and the Sox could
play the role of the spoiler. The Tigers have the Twins still hot on
their heals. Remember 2006 when the Tigers lost the AL Central title
on the last game of the season? Of course the Tigers went on to the
World Series, but that was sure ugly for the Tigers.
I don't see the Sox being a spoiler though.

After Detroit threw Freddy Garcia in for last season's #162 Monday
afternoon game, I'd hate to see the Sox try to overplay their final
three games with Detroit. I'd much rather be kicking the Twins behind,
but that's for next year. On the other hand, I hate to watch an
opponent celebrate their division championship (or wild card) - I'd
rather they go celebrate somewhere else, but the Sox are stuck in
Detroit. It's gonna be interesting......

The Sox should play for the Sox. In other words play the kids & see
who can play. Who cares about Minnesota & Detroit?

Whoever wins gets the Yankees. We can guess how that will turn out
whether it's Detroit or Minn. I don't see either team winning that but in a
5 game series, IF Verlander is on, the Tigers would have an outside shot at
a big upset. Notice I said shot.
