I would assume Clay will be a centerpiece of any major offerings again
this year -- he was supposedly part of the offers for Hernandez,
Halladay, and Gonzalez. So stands to reason that he would be asked
for again.

BUT... it would seem to me that Clay's value is quite different now
than from last July 31st. At that time, Buccholz was a minor-leaguer
that had some success in the majors but couldn't sustain it. Now, he
is a legitimate major league pitcher and has had success in a pennant
race and the post-season. (Not to mention tha the's marrying a "Deal
or No Deal" model!). So his value should be far greater that it was
last year.
I would suspect that if Theo does decide to include Clay in a deal, he
would need to throw in much less additional than he would have last
season.
