I Say, Talbot old shoe; (harrumph) wouldn't it show a modicum of
civility, and "Hail Fellow, Well Met" if TEE abrogated it's recently
purchased Title and it was awarded in default to the BRS who more richly
deserved it? Would that sit well with you and your fraternal
malcontents?
Your issues are quite alarming.
More disconcerting to you, and those of your ilk, should be the band of
semiskilled urchins representing Bahstin, who cannot emerge victorious
without the nectar of the Gods.....Boli!

This WS victory, # 27, is simply eating them up alive. But they really
shouldn't be so upset. The Sox can easily catch TEE with just another 24 WS
victories!

SOX - 138 million
TB - 43 million

TB wins. Another in a very long line of amusing anecdotes.

That's really all it is an amusing anecdote.

The real question is "how come the Yankees have only won once in the
last 9 years?"

At somepoint since 2000 the Yankees had.....

.....the highest paid catcher in baseball....(Posada)

.....the highest paid firstbaseman ..twice (Giambi, Teixeira)

.....the highest paid shortstop (Jeter)

.....the highest paid thirdbaseman (Rodriguez)

.....the highest paid DH (Sheffield)

.....the highest paid #1 starting pitcher.....three times (Clemens,
Mussina, Sabathia)

.....the highest paid #2 starting pitcher...twice (Brown,Burnett)

.....the highest paid closer (Rivera)

And of course the highest paid flop in history when they $28 million
for Roger's 6-6 record in 2007.

I'm sure I missed a few.

The question that needs to be answered is how can a team pick every
player it wants and still fail to win the World Series for 8 straight
years? It is a record of incompetence that may stand longer than the
56 game hitting streak.

Madden has it right. Cashman knows the truth.

You can buy a championship....but you can't buy the respect of your
peers.

The rest will go to the Sawx for their next W/C try.
We have so much $$ that we can buy anything we want.

Yeah, and the Yankees were in 3rd place that year. Eddie sure picked
an amusing anecdote to illustrate his "point" :-)

Exactly. The $ox bought rings in 04 and 07 but ESPN voted them as

STILL no dope-free WS in over 90 years.
