1, There is a link to research with information about global warming.
2. This research does not support my position and it finds severe
flaws with research that i like.
3. Aha! The research is posted on a site where there is an
advertisement for someone I don't like.
4. Anyone with any brains knows the writer of the research does not
control the advertisements that may appear on a site where the
research is mentioned and linked.
5. But I don't like the results of the research or the person in the
ad.
6. Therefore, the research can be dismissed out of hand without a fair
reading because the bastards ran an add i don't like on the same site
as the research. If not that I would find something else.
7. The left is totally intolerant of anything that doesn't fit their
preconceived notions, facts and a fair discussion be damned.

Most people who have studied the matter prefer a carbon tax to cap and
trade. I'm one of those who has studied the matter, and I certainly
prefer a carbon tax to C&T. But I do not like a carbon tax, which is
quite regressive. It is better than C&T b/c the revenue can be rebated
to undue the regressivity to some significant degree.
Most people I know (Liberal and Conservative) would prefer no carbon
tax of any kind if we did not have this alleged GW problem that some
fringe people call a hoax. You really think that Nancy Pelosi does not
believe man-caused GW is for real? Do you think Bush and McCain were
lying when they said they thought it was real?
I think a lot of the RWK web sites have the causality backwards. There
are some big players who lose from efforts to address GW, and they
have funded studies that have tried to call the consensus of the
scientific community into doubt. Much like the tobacco companies did
some years back to discredit those claiming a link between smoking
and various health risks. That is not all the negative literature, but
a big share of it.
Then we got all these RWKs making up conspiracy theories that they
credit to "Liberals" --- even thought they may never have had an
intelligent conversation with a Liberal and have little idea of what
Liberals want. That Liberals in general want a regressive tax is
pretty silly. THAT is typically the view of many (but not all)
Conservatives (assuming we need a tax for some reason, like funding
the government).
One final point. I often car pool with a conservative friend who has a
lot of guns. I have never thought for a minute that I'd like to have
the government take his guns away from him. Of course, he does not
have any machine guns.

Also, we should wonder how the libs are looking at this. Before the e-
mails, they said the evidence was all in and global warming was here and
human's were responsible. I'm sure they feel this is an isolated
incident. Problem is, it's the only time they've been caught. Wonder how
many other organizations are scrambling to make sure there are no
"accidents" in their group. There have been plenty of reports of
scientists with an opposing view not being allowed to speak. If they go
so far as to silence dissenters, you have to believe they are "silencing"
their own evidence that doesn't promote their agenda. No way is this the
end of it, IMHO.
