More on my side, but, hey - this IS the reason I am a baseball fan.
Many of us here have disparaged Bismo's apparent "traitorous" love for
Derek Jeter. He isn't a traitor - he is a BASEBALL fan. He is
willing to admit that noble opponents on the other side are worth the
ink.
We wish both that the exciting players excel, but that our team wins
despite the prowess of the opponent.
It's like my Chess (actually Go) Game Proverb: I would rather win by
forcing my opponent into making an intelligent mistake than win by the
opponent making a stupid mistake.

When a Yankee does well you need to deny it.
When they appear to exhibit honorable traits you need to suggest they
just do it for the money.
When they are successful you need to imply that it was acheived in an
illegal or devious manner.
You know, just think of them as Republicans

I do occasionally, if there is some obvious factual errors.....but
this was intended to be light-hearted.
I used to post a lot about politcs but it seemed to take over
everything and got in the way of the baseball stuff.
