Kottaras goes to Brewers on waivers. The level of stupidity behind
this move is off the charts.

Nor sure how you figure that. He's the only guy they tried who could
catch Wakefield and he looked like he knew what he was doing at the
plate. In most cases he looked a hell-uv-a-lot better than Varitek
with his swings.

There is no law against putting him on release waivers.

Sure. You can also light cigars with thousand dollar bills and wipe your
ass with twenties. Though I guess technically that really is against the
law.

Theo screwed up. He made a horrible decision in offering Varitek a
2009 contract and he compounded it with the 2010 player option. He is
talking it up because he doesn't want to admit how stupid he was. They
sucked up a lot more money when the dumped Lugo and Renteria before
him. They can easily take the hit on Varitek's deal. Theo hasn't got
the balls to do it at this time. So they will take a guy who had the
worst BA in baseball of everyone with at least 300 PA, who threw out
about 10% of baserunners going against him, who can't run, who seemed
to have a lot of trouble just catching the ball late in the season and
who hit UNDER .150 after the All Star break. He is 37 years old. How
do you think that will work out? I'll tell you. At some point they
will have to release him. Up until that point he will hurt the team.
They should just get it over with now. I can't imagine a bigger waste
of a roster spot.

Oh there will be another you THINK is as bad. If it had not been Tek, it
would be someone else you would be bellyaching about. I truly, honestly
believe you would be pissing and moaning about management's gross
incompetance in ANY none World Championship season. It's what you're all
about.

Some day you'll get a clue. Martinez caught Wakefield just fine.

Did you take a survey, toad-face? You are the blithering buffoon who
said the Red Sox bench would not be relevant in the playoffs. I guess
you were not watching when Lowrie and Kotchman made easy out in all of
their multiple PH appearances. Be a fool and think that carrying
garbage on the roster is no problem. It is in keeping with your
desultory posting history.

First the problem in the playoffs was the starting lineup. I wouldn't
make comments about others' posting habits with the stuff you post.

Let me make it clear for you. Tek is the backup. If you are so fond of
Kottaras, he isn't any better offensively.

Gnorker; I like the "desultory" thingy.
Shows an affinity for our language, and spelled right, also.
Carry on !
