First, you ill-bred, flatulent dolt, you must explain who "Veritek"
is. Perhaps part of the grounds crew? Once we know who you are
referring to, we can answer if we wish to patronize you.
Nope. The chances are slim too none.
Varitek will be back. unless there is a replacement unbekownst to us coming.

spelling typo flames are lame Mr Ganork.
So you have a contact close to Tek or Boras? Balls still in their court.
I'm not even sure the team won't eat the money if they were to find a more
attractive option.
Geez Ray...he generally leaves you alone. It could be a full time gig if he
wanted it.
Varitek will be back, on the bench. They'll use him as a fill-in
whenever any of Martinez, Youkilis, or Lowell need some time off.

who's going to replace him. he'll have to adjust. and I'm all for a "thanks
for the memories and good luck in your next job"
but is there anybody in Pawtucket ready? and decent journeymen free agents?
catchers are getting as rare as hens teeth.
I predict that he will be back doing a variety of things--back-up
catcher, perhaps some type of bullpen coach, or whatever the FO
feels will help the team.
BTT
But also totally expected and in this case understandable.

Varitek will start the season with the Red Sox.
The backup's backup might be suitable. Just take that "C" off.

You know what? I wouldn't be surprised if that is what's holding up Tek's
decision. The embarrassment of wearing that C, yet obviously not being that
guy any longer. Mock him if you like...but the guy deserves better after
the fine years he's had here.
he's hung on past his abilities but his dalliance with Heidi "the
Home-Wrecker" sdaddled him with an expensive divorce.
he's hanging on because he needs the money.
I appreciate what he's done, but I wanted him to retire before last season
and do so now.
but I also expect he'll be back.
