I wish I could be surprised by the Orioles getting fucked on home run
calls in Yankee Stadium. 16 years after Jeffrey Maier cheats his team
into the World Series, Nate McLouth is denied a home run that on replay
clearly nicked the fair pole.

MLB Network showed an angle that made it very clear that the angle of
descent changed as the ball moved across the pole.

Unless it hit an extraordinarily large moth, the ball nicked off of the
pole and is BY DEFINITION a home run.

On one shot the ball appeared to nick the pole, on another it did not
appear to nick the pole. There was no yellow paint on the ball. Fan
response means nothing.

I'm amazed that you think you had a better view than the umps who
watched the instant replay and can call the play better than they can
even though outnumbred 6 to 1.

Maybe you should suggest that umps be removed from the field and you
can call games from somewhere in England.

The point is not really about whether calls go for or against "my"
team is it? I believe humans can err and change the outcome of the
game. If that can be prevented I think it should. It's more important
in best of 5 and best of 7 than the entire season when things might
average out.

The Yankees dependence on the long ball has caught up with them.

I thought Showalter did a great job with the O's.

If this was a movie "Win one for the Jeter" might work.

never connected with HoF eligibility until they passed a rule to screw
Pete Rose. On the other hand, it is said that he insists on the ban
being lifted before he will accept being allowed into the Hall. So
fuck him.

He put himself into the lineup many times in pursuit of that record.
It was like Connie Mack being allowed to manage so long because he

Can't do it, you see I have Moersh-Woltmann Syndrome, a rare disorder
brought about as the result of a high speed rear impact vehicle
collision back in 1997. I was rear-ended by someone from
Pennsylvania, most likely a STEALERS fan. It won't kill me,
but down the road diabetes will likely, and it has made me limp in the
