Thome hit a grand slam and a three-run homer for his career-high seven
RBIs.
With 14 RBIs in his last three games, Thome increased his career total
to 1,545 and passed Harry Heilmann and Willie Stargell for 41st place
on baseball's all-time list.
When advised of his award, Thome refused to accept it, saying,
I have never bet on ball games.
White Sox fans would prefer that this award be renamed "The Shoeless
Joe Award". While it is true that Pete caused a lot of stink, his
actions never threatened the complete destruction of Professional
Baseball, like the actions of Shoeless Joe and the rest of the 1919
Chicago White Sox nearly did. It is not enough that the White Sox (and
all of their fans) have been forced to wear the color BLACK ever since
this devestatingly shameful and humiliating period in history, it is
necessary to change tha name of your award to add a "more frequest"
reminder.
Zadok, there are two kinds of people in the world, the reamers and the
reamed. You're the reamed.
According to the rules and regulations of The Rose Award, the only way
the award can be renamed is if a player gets 4,257 hits or more.
Tell us truthfully, when you sucked Pete Rose off, did you spit or swallow??
Zadok, did you really say that old Playboy Playmates never die, they
just grow old and graze, and then take big shits into your mouth?
