"Braves' Cox Suspended for Two Games"

NEW YORK (AP) - Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox was suspended for two
games and fined Monday by the commissioner's office for prolonged arguing
during a game against Philadelphia on Sept. 11.
Cox was ejected for the ninth time this season after arguing with
third-base umpire Chuck Meriwether in the bottom of the first inning when
Marcus Giles was called out trying to steal third. Before leaving the field,
Cox had a discussion with plate umpire Tim Welke.
Cox was to manage Monday against Florida and start the suspension Tuesday,
when the Braves open a series against Montreal.

Seriously, this brought up a question. IIRC, Cox has managed the Braves
for 5 seasons of 100 or more wins. Joe McCarthy managed the Yankees for
6 seasons of 100 or more wins. If the Braves manage to win 100 games
this year but at least one of them is during the suspension, will this
season count towards his record? Does anyone here KNOW? Or have any
precedent?

Cox is still officially the manager and will get credit for the win
regardless of whether he's suspended or not. He's done
so when he's thrown out and when he's been gone from the team for
personal/medical matters. He's not missed a lot of games, but Corrales
has been the designated manager of the night more than once in the past.
