Obama thinks that technological innovation results in unemployment, and
blames ATMs and Kiosks for the high unemployment rate. Last fall, he
admitted that the foundation of his economic recovery philosophy,
subsidy for "shovel-ready projects", was fiction.

The economic boom of the 80s and 90s did not happen because of new
government handouts or because bureaucrats correctly picked economic
winners and losers and subsidized them. That economic success was due
to favorable tax rates and economic freedoms that allowed entrepreneurs
to innovate and create entire new industries that provided a higher
standard of living for everyone.

Told ya so. Some of us warned in 2008 that Obama was completely
unqualified for the task at hand, and although it is nice to be proven
right, everyone is suffering because of this anti-visionary.

Mr. Obama is acknowledging that, despite his campaign promises, "there's
no such thing as shovel-ready projects."
