Hey guys,

Is it ok to wash whey protein and creatine down with orange juice. Just
wanted to check in case the acid in it or something would "destroy" the
powder.

Thanks
Dominick

OJ with Whey is ok, as protein is pretty stable. OJ will break down
creatine as you suspected.

True

Bullshit. Look at the pH of orange juice. Now compare it to the pH of
stomach acid. Notice a difference. Yep, that's right, stomach acid is a
much stronger acid. SO if stomach acid does not degrade creatine, why would
the much weaker acid of orange juice degrade creatine? I am waiting.

This myth needs to DIE, DIE, DIE.

All types of things mix in your stomach, why would it make a difference if
they did outside the stomach? OJ is a good sugar source to help the insulin
spike the creatine in as well. Good luck.

Despite the profane comments in regards to my parents.
The major problem is that creatine powder is not very effective when you
look at absorption rates. The powder passes through the stomach and the acids
in the stomach start to digest the creatine. This is not what you want, since
you want the creatine to reach your muscles. Studies have shown that as much as
40-50% of the creatine powder you take is lost before it ever reaches your
muscles. The idea is for your body to quickly absorb the creatine before it is
digested in the stomach. Orange juice or any acidic juice will aid in digestion
of the creatine. (not what you want)
Which is why manufacturers suggest grape juice and simular fluids.
Also this is why you don't take creatine at meal time as it will sit in
your stomach longer and your stomach will break down even more of the creatine.
You want the creatine to be absorbed by osmosis as quickly as possible
before digestion can take place. Anything you can do to facilitate this process
is a big plus in absorbtion of creatine by your body. This allows you to get
more bang for the buck.

This is what I have read from articles from makers of creatine too.
