For the best prices on equipment, you need to cntact www.quasaruk.com and
www.meno.com these companies can get you new packs extremely inexpencive. As
for a franchising fee, contact Will Low because he is the one that owns PCQ
the software that runs the game on a computer, but beware, it will only
operate on computer under about 133 mhz. Contact me if you are interested in
a work arround.

This may be true but that does not actualy run a game. To get the scores
from the game and to send settings into the game network you still need PCQ.
(Or will, untill I finish this little program I started over here) Im not
aware of any one (except Q2000) that has actualy made software to controll
the network boxes. If you know otherwise feel free to let me know.

Umm no you can just network it into the Game Control CPU and it will work just
fine unless your trying to get 2.72 to work.
i have never had to use PCQ software for any of my stores.

Exactly,

Who made that software is my question. I think you will find that the
software was made by Will Low, who could sue you if you dont pay to use it.
Will he? that is a good question. If its not sofware made by Will, I would
like to see a few screen shots, and know who so I can get in touch with
them. Im working on a project to write some new software for QZar so that it
works on Windows.

ahh ok well, actualy...

Will Low does own the rights to all versions of PCQ. you cant just use an
old version of it to skate arround him. He owns all rights to PCQ QIS and
several other software packages. It may have been made before he owned QZar,
but he does in fact own QZar INC now and he purchased all of the assets of
the previous QZar INC. The fact is that that version was property of the
companies before him and therefor when he bought the company he therefor
owns the rights to it now too.

so my ORIGINAL message still is valid, you need to contact Will Low for that
game software, but for hardware there are many outlets.

I would like to announce that I am working on developing a new software
package for QZar centers. Its name is "FreeZar" and as the name suggests it
is completely open source and free. Im working on it in my spare time, but I
have writen a document on how the QZar network operates. I hope that Will
can use my software to help leverage new qzars arround the country and also
that current centers use it. It will not have the limitations of PCQ where
it must run on an older computer with one specific type of sound card. (This
will run on any version of windows with any Direct X compatible sound card).
It will be released under a license similar to the GNU GPL. I would dedicate
more time to this if there was some need for it. So I ask, would any one
that is running a center or considering running a center interested?

Yeah...

There is a lot of potential for QZar (look at it when it was at its peak) if
some one is commited to it. If you dont want to put any effort or money into
it (Will has admitted that he doesnt wish to put any effort in to it.) Then
its going to flounder. Basicly Will said that he contacts any one he thinks
is going to set up a store once, and if they dont want his help oh well.

If there is somthing i'm missing Id like to know, but it seems like his
company owns the intelectual property of PCQ. Just as Microsoft owns the
rights to Dos 1.0 to this day. Unless somewhere PCQ was placed in the public
domain it is still the property of Will Low (except if you own a store that
was in operation at the time QZar INC went bankrupt, there is an exception
there where a store that was in operation has the right to use it.)
