You can look long and hard and you will never find any post from me that saz
anything close to that. I did spend a bunch of time in a cuemakers shop (a few
for that matter) and I did pick up a bunch of knowledge, I never did any of
this with the thought of building cues. I did it for a love of cues and a lot
of free time on my hands when I was in college. I have also worked with this
same cuemaker to build a cue for myself, it came out fine yet I don't sit here
and post how easy it is and how I mastered building cues. I'll say it again I

For the record ... I started repairing cues years ago in Corpus Christi,
Texas.
Just simple things like retiping my house cues for my pool table in the game
room.
It was about 8 months ago that I ordered some serious expensive equipment
and started looking for instructional material on cue repair and building.

I did ask once if anyone had some broken house cues I could pratcice on.

Forget about it. Jimbo only responds when it pertains to *him* looking good.
He does have an agenda (although he denies it). My advice would be for you
to keep making cues and the market will determine whether or not they are
worth looking at. It's a tough field to penetrate, and I doubt any newcomers
will survive. Jimbo is a rare individual in that he displays the knowledge

Secondly, everyone is jumping on Jimbo, and YES, while I think his blatant
honesty may be a little harsh at times, is he really wrong in his thinking?
The cuemaking business is VERY hard to get into, VERY hard to make a name
for yourself...so when someone posts that they have it down, have cues
already on exhibit, can make a GOOD/Solid cue, etc, maybe we should question
the quality of his work? Saying that you can make a GOOD cue is almost like
when that goofball Sam said he knew "all the shots on the table." Hell,
from what I heard, he wasn't even above the B level. IMO, it's better when
others sing your praises: It's safe to say Efren knows all the shots on the
table, not Sam. Last I heard, pro's feared Efren's game...while Sam is
probably somewhere "knowing all the moves" on a chessboard. As far as pool
cues, Ginacue is good (I hear). I haven't heard anything about William
Lee's cues yet, except from William himself.
Hey, I'm all for trying out that sneaky pete Will and I think if you can
somehow settle differences with Jim, you can send him one too. Being
players who love the game, we'd both give honest reports on the
hit/feel/etc.

i am not a "mm supporter". i have told mike, many times on this forum, my one
beef with him. it has nothing to do with him voicing his opinion (which i

times he was lying and i called him on it. he got pissed off at me to the point

have claimed it's been my *AGENDA* whatever that means. The point is Warren and

discredit me. The news group is all about opinions and I love to hear them all,
even Warren and MM have opinions that I'd love to hear, but I would like to
hear the opinions about this topic. We can all agree I'm an asshole, but what
would that have to do with this thread?
In this thread I brought up the fact that I think Will Lee is a moron
because he has made claims that Cue making is easy, a snap in his own words. I
contend that people take the *ART* of building cues very serious and they have
spent years experimenting and honing their skills to build GOOD ? SOLID cues.
Will contends that it's so easy that he picked it up in 8 months. I keep saying
a few months to 6 months, Will keeps calling me a liar and saying it's been *8*
months since he bought his lathe and starting repair work and then building
them from scratch. My issue isn't with Will's cues it's with the attitude that
he feels he can make a solid well built cue with less then 6 months experience
and less then 20 cues built (prolly less then 5). I am not a cuemaker and I do
not speak for cuemakers, but I do have a respect for them and the work they do,
it's not rocket science but it does take a certain amount of time and
experience to do ANYTHING and do it well. Will can take this as a personal
attack on his cues if he wishes, but it's just my opinion on his attitude. In
this group many have taken crap for similar attitudes, Mr. Arnot has been
attacked for his self proclaimed Master cuemaker and he's been at it far longer
then you, IMO you are waaaaay ahead of schedule. I come here for fun and to
post opinions, I do not lie although I'm sure I have screwed up many facts in
the past it's never been intentional. Mr. lee has called me a liar when I said
he's been at this less then 6 months and he has claimed *8* months several
times. I don't like to waste the time to research things but since I've been
called a liar by MM and Mr. Lee I'll put out a bit of evidence to support my

build cues and where he asks for cues so he could practice *repairs* all around
this same time period. I can also show posts from Mr.Lee that say there is a
wait list to buy this lathe. I ask you to check the date on this post, I ask
anyone who is better then me at math to run the numbers. I ask you to tell me
how can one think about ordering a lathe that takes a while to get order it in
the middle of March and own it for 8 months at the beginning of Sept.
Also I'd like to hear what Warren and MM think about this topic rather hear
them cry about how mean I've been to them.

well fred, that is exactly what happened. i hadn't been following the
exchange and just came across the line at the end of jim's post. after i
posted my not-so-funny joke i went back and read some of the posts and
realized what an ass i made of myself. it really wasn't meant the way it
appeared. i was wrong, and insensitive to boot (albeit not purposely) and i
apologized. there isn't a whole lot more i can do than that. sorry.

Well, if you weren't so quick to jump on me, you would have seen that I was
drawing an analogy between what Sam said and what W. Lee said. Never did I
say that Sam cornered the market on ridiculous claims ... so stop twisting
shit around.
I also claim that Warren already has great action in Philly. Wanna test out
