I have always wanted to voice my opinion of Sat-Con Village in Corona, Ca
to a large audience. I hope someone from there is tuned to this newsgroup
so they can see how shitty their service is.

I have been playing paintball for about 3 years. I have gone to most of
the fields located in southern california. I have been to Sat-Con maybe a total
of 5 times. I haven't played in a while, so I don't even know if SAT-CON
is still open.

The field is run like a military state. One broken rule, you're out. You
gun shoots over 300 during a game and you're caught, you're gone for the day.
I've even see refs throw guys out for the day while Chronoing them in
the shade and seeing above 300. Get a clue you idiots, the Chrono works
on sunlight.

I have had the stupid-self-proclaimed-professional-fresh-out-of-pre-
school referees pick my gun up in the MIDDLE OF A FUCKING FIRE FIGHT, slice
a ball because they don't know how to pump the damn thing, make a snide comment
on how high my gun is cranked up because he can't pump it right (I know,
it takes lots of muscles to pump a Wintec, right?), shoot it, give it back,
and leave me there with paint in my barrel in the MIDDLE OF A FUCKING FIRE
FIGHT!

Whew...now my frustrations are vented.

I don't know man. I though Sat Cong was pretty good. I've been there about
7 or 8 times. The reason they are so strict with their rules is that if
one person's eyeball gets popped like a grape, they're out of business.
period.

Amen to that! SatCONG (racism man!) is a prison, one rule broken and you
kiss your day and your 25 bucks goodbye. To hell with SC! Not to
mention the 5 dollars for a 20oz. fill and and 7 dollar 100 paintballs!

One eye out out at any field is bad, SC Village is just a prison. It's
not just about eyes anyways. If you cary a velocity adjusting tool, such
as a allen key for an Automag, you are automaticaly ASSUMED a cheater!
They'd rather you miss a game, while you walk all the way bak the the
parking lot to get your key. No shade there either. IMHO SC sucks! The
only people is dosen't suck for is the Asshole Grizwaldz that are there
evey day. One day I'm goona go back thier, pay my 25 bucks, and kick all
thier asses or shoot them at about 350FPS, then I'll go home. (Gee thats
harsh!)

I played paint ball "capture the flag" back in upstate New York back in the early 80's. The game actually originated in Canada. When I moved to southern California in 1986 Sat Cong was the first field I played in. Back then it was just a small field and we used the old single shot Sheridan that had the triple barrel stacked gun. Very slow and you had to make sure every shot counted. We only used cheap eye protectors and no face shields so when you got hit in the face you felt it. Some guys even used the clear face shields that I find cumbersome. It was $20 for a half day game back then.

When they the guns themselves started to improvise with longer barrels, pump action, bigger gas tanks, long gravity feed for your ammo and silencers (don't know if they are still allowed) they started having rules. They blasted your protective glass at point blank range to make sure they don't shatter, then started Chronographing before you went out on the field then use a hot gun with colored wax to mark your gun after chronographing. Kinda stupid because the players would find out what color the wax they use that day and guys would have their own wax guns in their cars, mark their gunds and not take it to be chronographed.

When someone on the field complains that you are shooting too hot (over 300 fps) they call the ref to chrono your gun. Well this was too easy to fix. Before the referee approaches you to chrono your gun, you just turn off your air supply tank, shoot a couple of rounds and what ever air is left in the gun is what you use for chronographing which would make it shoot less than 300 psi. The refs think your supply tank is "ON" but actually it's turned off.

Some of these refs are definitely pre-school idiots. One hot headed ref argued with a player that he wanted to attack the player and it took another ref to hold him back preventing him attacking the player. The ref should have been fired on the spot. Another ref told us that we could not shoot through a small opening on a man made rock unless you can squeeze your head through the small opening like a Looney Tune character. Well we thought he himself was a Looney Tune. While other refs when you give them too much power they are just complete "jack boot thug assholes".

The last time I played in Sta-Cong village was 15 years ago and the way things ran back then I decided to no longer play paint ball. Too expensive and no fun anymore.
