That would be a shame. Unfortunately I'm hors de combat at
the moment; Mrs S and I have both tested positive for Covid
and the symptoms are coming through. I'm spending most of
the day in bed. I hope to be here a bit more often when
we're well again.

With my luck there probably aren't any events where they give out medals
for excuses. And I already have my bright yellow pants. And a red cap...

Probably.

I was on the board of the home-owners association for my old flat for a
couple of years;
I settled two "estates" (such as they were);
I spent time on and of over a couple of years renting holiday-homes
around the country and looking at houses in those places;
I moved to a tiny village (well, five houses in a row and to
discontinued farms) in the south.
I sometimes mow the lawn and prune various bushes and trees;
I feed the birds during winter, though not last year 'cause I forgot to
buy seed before they were sold out.

But what I did in between that I couldn't tell you...

Not much risk of that here. There's still 10km to the nearest town of
any size and that's not growing either. It's mostly farmland around here
(with the requisite mice invasions at harvest time) with a mess of
vacation homes across on the east coast. But I am just 15km and a ferry
ride from a german mega-mall.

Anyway: my last test was clear and the symptoms have abated

I know you don't. On account of my not getting any of the messages you

What's worse: being menopausal or having to eat broccoli?
Asking purely out of scientific curiosity, as I'm unlikely to experience
either...

That would be "Krak". It's a private company collating puplic records.
The flowers thing is an ad for a florists chain. Krak is mostly a
web-site now but back in the day they gave away phone books/maps for
local areas, all paid for by the entries in the commercial section.

Only butter is very high on saturated fats, and salt is bad for high
blood pressure - which incidently can result in hot flashes... so.

Not really. I dislike the concept of cut flowers. So wasteful.
People do send flowers for a variety of reasons: get well gifts,
congratulations, apologies and so on...

Yes, you need some salt, but too much salt is also bad. Salt is not
exactly unique in that respect.
Here table salt is by law required to have an amount of iodine added.
Don't know the rationale, but I know iodine is supposed to prevent
thyroid cancer (one of the few things I remember from ABC training).

IIRC Iodine is essential to some developmental processes, as witness
the Salamander which will remain in its immature, pre-metamorphosis
change to the adult state if deprived of Iodine. Remarkably,
Salamanders can even reproduce in the immature state. DAMHIK.

Did you know that (professionally produced) danish pastry is
predominantly made with margarine and not butter. Originally (back in
the day) it had a more uniform consistency - which is important for the
flakiness of the baked product. With modern butter-making processes it's
probably just to cut costs...

Excuse me! I just bought a box of salt (coarse but still "food-salt").
It contains : Salt, iodine 20mg/kg, and anti-caking agent E535[1] max.
20mg/kg. No sugar. That would be so weird. Or american...

radioactive just from the added cosmic radiation reaching the surface
higher up...

[Hmmm. They each have a number of errors - but remarkably never the
same. And correcting the typing error in the last sentence they both get
it mostly right:
DeepL: "They plan each other's deaths." vs.
Google: "They plot each other's death."
'plan' is the literal translation, though 'plot' is probably better in
context. 'deaths' <> 'death' I don't know about.]

A: an eggplant emoji is not an eggplant
