It will be the first time since the 99 North regionals when we made it to
the finals. =) I cant wait to see how we play when everyone shows up.

No. Denver B got 4384 (in their game against Fresno and Federal
Way). We got the 4346 in our first finals game against Mesa and
Phoenix.

Ironically the West was the strongest (numerically) on the fodder end too.
The bottom 49 (forty-nine!) scores all belong to Southern, Eastern and Northern
teams. Twenty-one teams from those Regions have scores lower than the lowest
score a Western team put up.
Of course, I am the first to admit that the numbers can be completely
misleading. Sometimes style of play, layout of the maze and other factors lead
to higher scores. Nobody will really know how the Regions compare until
September!

no shoulders meant less points for our teams up here, that'll change come

I'm also an NAC Champ
see, I have to go with this as the reason, I heard (and granted this is not
as good as being there) that the packs in the west were very sensitive,
lending to higher ratios, and more tags, and as a result higher scoring
games, even by the lesser teams.
but I wasn't there, so I can't claim any knowledge, I also heard that the
packs sets were remarkably even in the west. so I am sure that what I heard
wasn't true. :-P
regardless, we will find out in september what the score really is, and I
look forward to it!
We actually interpreted it as larger/stronger IRs, though in practice, the
difference between stronger guns and more sensitive packs is academic.

They were not. Red set averaged almost 300 points/game higher than green set,
with mixed set about 43 p/g behind green.

That's not ironic, that's "horseshit" hehe.
Do you deny the possibility that the Southern scores could be lower
because the median caliber of a southern team is stronger?
And comparing the raw number of scores between regions is a bit
misleading to begin with, since there are more scores from the West than
there are from the South.
And since ya like these breakdowns, let's look at history...
TOP 10 representations at NAC
1998
South 40%
West 40%
North 20%
East 20%
1999

Hmm, I wanna be in the East.

well that seems bout even to me... at least compared to the mixed set in
regionals.. probably averaged bout 600 points below the green set which was
probably 200 points below the red set..
anyways.. that just made for an interesting tourney.. and strategy with the
weak set..

That actually works more in the West's favor. If there are more scores from
the West than the South, then statistically the West should have more of the
bottom scores than the South (if all else was equal). Of course, the North has
even more than the West. The West has fewer bottom scores than Regions with
less scores and fewer bottom scores than Regions with more scores.
Anyway - I do agree with the ultimate conclusion of the above sentence.
Comparing scores between Regions doesn't necessarily prove anything. There are
a lot of factors that can affect scores.

Mixed set was indeed weak, average close to 600 p/g less than green. Green was
actually quite close to red, only 80 p/g less.
i don't think you can judge different regions cause the north should have the
lowest scores of any region. i was seeing 1% and 2% that i had never seen
before.
